JAPAN TIMESBullet train stopped by graffiti
East Japan Railway Co. canceled a shinkansen run to Niigata Prefecture early Tuesday to remove graffiti from the train, which was apparently painted by vandals overnight, delaying about 500 passengers, JR East officials said.
The 10-car Tanigawa 401 was to leave Tokyo on the Joetsu Shinkansen Line at 6:32 a.m. for Echigoyuzawa Station in Niigata Prefecture when the word "hack" in English was found scrawled across 4 to 5 meters of the second car during a check at around 5 a.m., the officials said.
The train was sitting in a switching yard in Kita Ward when the red, white and blue spray paint was found, the officials said.
A smaller work of graffiti was found on a bullet train parked next to the Tanigawa 401, but the railroad was able to wipe it off in time for its first run of the day to Nagano.
About 20 bullet trains were parked in the yard, which is surrounded by a fence, when the graffiti was found on the Tanigawa 401.
JR East suspects vandals broke in during the night, even though the area is monitored by a surveillance camera and security guards patrol at night.

YOMIURIGraffiti on Fujikyu train
October 4, 2008
At 6am on October 3 at Kawaguchiko Station on the Fuji Kyuko Line in Funatsu, Fujikawaguchiko, a station employee performing inspections discovered graffiti on the outside of the first car of a two-car local train. Fuji Yoshida Police Station is investigating the incident as a case of property damage.
According to Fuji Kyuko, the graffiti was written with white, black, and blue spraypaint, and contained English letters, approximately one meter tall by ten meters wide. A 1.3-meter tall fence surrounds the tracks on both sides.
The vandalized train was scheduled for use on the 7:19am local train departing from Kawaguchiko Station bound for Otsuki. A surplus unit was used in its place and there were no impacts to service.

Sr. alcalde, no estem arribant a l’última estació.
